Santai, Airlie Beach - Resort Corp's New Award Winning brand
This project is in the advanced pre construction phase but is planned to be released to the market in late 2006. It is located in the middle of beautiful Airlie Beach on the Whitsundays. It will incorporate 1,200 m2 of commercial retail that will contain restaurants, bars, boutiques and an eclectic mix of shopping and dining outlets. Santai Airlie, the second of Resort Corp's innovative new branded resort hotel properties, will incorporate 209 resort apartments embracing contemporary Balinese design and surround over two hectares of tropical Balinese-inspired gardens and pools. It will also include conferencing facilities for 200 delegates.
Many of the apartments will have extensive views to the beautiful Coral Sea in the Whitsunday Islands with most of the project having outlooks in a northerly direction across a large lagoon swimming pool, lush landscaping and exotic and indulgent sundecks, creating a natural tropical ambience. The project will incorporate a health spa and fitness centre, a gymnasium, a kid’s club, crèche and child minding centre. The project will be managed by one of the internationally renowned luxury hotel operators.
Santai has won the UDIA QLD's prestigious award for the Best Large Medium Density Development for 2007, and the NSW UDIA award for Best Master-Planned Mixed Use Development.
Further recognition has also come with Santai being nominated for two National UDIA awards, to be awarded next March for Best Large Medium Density and Best Master-Planned Mixed Use Development.
