Building started on a “beautiful place”

23/01/2003 -Construction has begun on Resort Corp’s ultra-luxurious $7 million Soraya on Dreamtime apartment project fronting Dreamtime beach at Kingscliff.

The three-level, six apartment project is expected to be completed by late April 2003.

The project is one of the first premium properties to be delivered in the beachside town, the subject of intense development activity.

Resort Corp specialises in upmarket beachfront residential and resort projects and is associated with developer Peter Madrers and other private investors.

Gold Coast-based Stuart Crompton Projects has been appointed to build Soraya on Dreamtime.

Resort Corp is managing marketing.  One apartment has been sold prior to the project’s official launch, with heavy interest in the balance driven by Resort Corp’s recent high profile announcement of luxury Tweed Coast projects elsewhere n Kingscliff and at Cabarita.

The three-bedroom apartments in Soraya, which means “beautiful place”, are priced between $1.25 million and $1.5 million.

All apartments will measure 180sq m internally and range in total area form 275-354sq m including balconies and terraces, storage space and two secure car spaces.

They will enjoy absolute frontage onto Dreamtime Beach and pristine foreshore conservation areas, and spectacular views of the World Heritage hinterland and Mt Warning National Park.

The internal design emphasizes open plan living, with dining, lounge and kitchen areas opening up through bi-fold doors onto expansive wrap-around balconies.

The master bedrooms will have spacious sitting areas, walk-in wardrobes and indoor-outdoor ensuites with freestanding baths and “his and hers” showers.

The two penthouse apartments will feature private rooftop terraces averaging 60sq m and boasting 270-degree views of the beach and hinterland.

The two ground floor apartments will have private plunge pools and all apartments will have lift access from the ground floor lobby.

Resort Corp Managing Director Peter Madrers said Soraya’s apartments would be the ultimate in luxury living, rarely seen on the Tweed or Gold Coasts.

“These oversized apartments will be the epitome of refined, classy beachside living on one of the most beautiful beaches located on the eastern seaboard,” Mr Madrers said.

“The project has been designed to access and enjoy its absolute beachfront location and the lush tropical outdoor surroundings.”

“The finishes will be sophisticated and modern with wide use of polished timber floors, glass, granite, stainless steel and sandstone.”

“Imported kitchen appliances and designer bathroom fittings will top off the look,” he said.

Resort Corp bought the 1012sq m Soraya site at 7 Murphy’s road from Mrs Maureen Halliday in March 2002 for $1.55 million.

Tweed Shire Council later supported its development application unanimously in a rare 11-0 vote.

“As we expected, this project has required very little marketing to date,” Mr Madrers said.

“People are being attracted by Resort Corp’s winning combination of fantastic locations and top-quality, luxury designs.”

Resort Corp also plans to transform the nearby Cabarita hotel-motel site into a $58 million upmarket beachfront apartment development of unrivalled quality.

It will lodge a development application with the Tweed Shire Council early next month to build The Beach at Cabarita.  The project will feature 54 apartments, two rooftop ocean homes and a ground floor retail quarter.

An additional development is planned for 32-34 marine Parade.  A development application was lodged with Tweed Shire Council last month.

Resort Corp is also in advanced planning to develop a 27 apartment luxury development on a rear beachfront site at Currumbin.
