The Beach set for a tidal wave of success

MULTI-AWARD winning developer Resort Corp has applied the finishing touches to its $75 million The Beach Resort on Cabarita Beach after launching its new swim-up pool bar and room services facilities.

The luxury resort features 57 residential resort apartments spanning three levels, surrounding terraced pools and tropical landscaping, sun decks and the now open swim up-bar.

The resort has tasted great recent success with the highly successful opening of the $10 million The Beach Bar – bar and grill, which will service the new facilities.

Resort Corp co-managing director Paul Brinsmead said he was excited that the company’s vision for the resort was nearing completion.

“The opening of these new facilities marks the final step in realising a new era for Cabarita and its local economy,” said Mr Brinsmead.

“The Beach’s five-star experience lifts the bar further on the New Tweed Coast and puts the stunning beauty of Cabarita Beach on the national map.

Mr Brinsmead said that since opening, The Beach had started to achieve its promise of rejuvenating the Cabarita economy and transforming the seaside town located 20 minutes south of Gold Coast Airport.

“We’ve been thoroughly delighted at the strong market acceptance from both locals and the drive market from Brisbane,” he said.

Mr Brinsmead said that buyers in the resort have been won over by its position, design and facilities.

“When we set out to build The Beach, our key consideration was to ensure that all apartments and public spaces capitalised on the natural attributes of the site,” he said.

“To this end, the use of expansive glazing combined with spacious open plan living areas maximise views to the beach.

“By also employing sound sustainable design principles, we delivered efficient cross ventilation and natural lighting throughout the apartments,” he said.

He said that interiors of The Beach reflected the sophisticated yet laid back style of Cabarita.

“The interiors perfectly promote Cabarita’s lifestyle. They’re tasteful and modern with natural coastal style people can identify with.

“Our design director, John Lea has produced a stunning project to match its spectacular location,” he said

The public spaces in The Beach include a lobby, gym, warm and cold pools with spa, a conference room and multi-media room and residents’ cinema.

The wall beyond the reception area also features ‘one of a kind’ foyer art with overlapping planes of backlit photographic panels depicting abstract coastal imagery.

Mr Brinsmead said the wall and ceiling surfaces are treated as individual planes and appear to float in response to the contemporary architectural style.

“The grand feature staircase within the lobby area also connects with a floating bridge link highlighting The Beach’s three-storey atrium.  It overlooks the lush central courtyard and pool area.”

“The stone and timber finishes are natural and “sand-like”.  The textural elements are contrasted by smooth surfaces,” he said.

The resort’s stunning design has also been recognised by the property development industry, winning best development outside of Sydney at the NSW UDIA awards for excellence.
