The $9 million development was given the go ahead in early February 2005 after lodging the development approval in November, 2003.
Located on the trendy Marine Parade café strip in Kingscliff, the Sea apartments will exude sophistication and will add to the street’s already vibrant luxury beachside atmosphere.
Designed by Pacific Projects, Group which is owned and operated by Mr Peter Madrers and Mr John Lea, Sea seeks to capture the essence of a beachside lifestyle.
Sea is the sister project to the $12.1 million Nor Nor East complex which is currently nearing completion.
Nor Nor East was approved in 2003 by Tweed Shire Council. It is now likely to be completed in March, 2005. Tweed Shire Council came under considerable pressure and criticism by Tweed Coast lobby groups who alleged, among other things, that the building was a 4 storey building and should not be allowed to be developed.
Sea, Kingscliff Beach is a project almost identical with the same characteristics as Nor Nor East, but has been approved by the NSW Government’s Planning Department. The NSW Government has therefore determined that the issues raised on both Nor Nor East and Sea were outweighed by the quality and appropriateness of the project.
“Local lobby groups can hardly criticize the Tweed Council in relation to Nor. Nor East when the NSW Government has considered the same issues and given the Sea project the green light”, said Mr Madrers.
Resort Corp managing director, Mr Peter Madrers said the project focuses on boutique apartments with a casual ambience.
“The number of quality developments we have seen in Kingscliff in recent years has certainly raised the bar in terms of prestige properties and we anticipate that Sea will further enhance this already booming strip,” he says.
Sea will comprise of four 3-bedroom apartments, including a sub-penthouse and penthouse, all with sweeping views of the Tweed coastline.
Designed over three levels, the apartments will range in size from 170 square metres to 199 square metres and include enormous balconies and terraces ranging from 15.2 square metres to 158 square metres for the penthouse.
The development will also incorporate a ground floor retail precinct, which is expected to be taken up by gourmet restaurants and designer boutiques.
Sea will also include a resident’s gymnasium and each apartment will feature stunning state-of-the-art interiors.
The apartments have been designed to capitalize on extensive alfresco style living and will be complete with polished timber floors, natural sandstone and imported European appliances.
The Sea apartments will be offered for sale from $1.35 million, with the penthouse priced at $2.65 million.
Resort Corp purchased the site for $2 million in August, 2003 from local Kingscliff residents.
Resort Corp is owned by Mr Madrers and lawyer, Mr Paul Brinsmead and currently has five Tweed Coast projects planned or under construction. These include: The Beach at Cabarita, Nor Nor East at Kingscliff Beach, Soraya, Dreamtime Beach at Kingscliff and Santai, Casuarina Beach.
